Bhopal. After rural areas in Madhya Pradesh, now Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban 2.0 has started in cities also. Under this scheme, 10 lakh houses will be built for the needy of the state. The Urban Development and Housing Department has issued instructions regarding this. PM Swanidhi Yojana, building construction workers, Anganwadi workers, PM Vishwakarma Yojana artisans, sweepers and families living in slums have been kept on priority. Central share and state share grant amount of Rs 19 thousand 700 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of PM residences. Rs 3,900 crore has been approved as interest subsidy for the Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS). In this way a total of Rs 23 thousand 600 crore has been approved. Till now an amount of Rs 22 thousand 800 crore has been released to the beneficiaries.
Help will be available at four levels
The guidelines of PM Awas Urban 2.0 have arrived for urban areas. According to this, work will be done at four levels. Financial assistance will be provided for the first house. Secondly, the government will build cheap houses. Third, a house will be available on rent and fourth, subsidy will be given on home loan interest.
8 lakh 25 thousand houses ready
So far, construction of houses for 8 lakh 25 thousand needy beneficiaries has been completed under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban in the state. In the first phase of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 9 lakh 45 thousand houses were sanctioned in the state. Madhya Pradesh is at the leading position in the country during the entire period of implementation of the first phase of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban. Many urban bodies of Madhya Pradesh and the state have also received awards at the national level for the excellent implementation of the scheme. The credit for the effective implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban in the first phase goes to the many innovations made by the state government to provide housing at minimum rates. Central share and state share grant amount of Rs 19 thousand 700 crore for the construction of sanctioned houses and Rs 3 thousand 900 crore as interest subsidy for Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS) component, thus the total amount approved is Rs 23 thousand 600 crore.
