Raipur: Chhattisgarh government in its resolution letter has accelerated the process of providing permanent houses to 18 lakh homeless families of the state under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) under ‘Modi’s Guarantee’.
This important decision was approved in the first cabinet meeting under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai. The Chhattisgarh government has taken another important step towards fulfilling its promise of providing permanent houses to 18 lakh homeless families of the state under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The Finance Department has released an amount of Rs 2,560 crore, including the Central and State share, to be transferred to the beneficiaries.
Chief Minister Sai has said that our aim is to provide permanent houses to all the homeless families of the state under this scheme. This initiative is not only a residential facility but also a medium for social and economic upliftment.
An amount of Rs 5,144 crore has been released so far
According to the information received from the Finance Department, a total amount of Rs 5,144 crore has been released so far in this financial year. In the first installment, central share of Rs 1,550.30 crore, state share of Rs 1,033.70 crore, total Rs 2,584 crore and in the second installment, central share of Rs 1,535.40 crore, state share of Rs 1,024.60 crore, total Rs 2,560 crore have been released. This amount will soon be transferred directly to the accounts of the beneficiaries, which will speed up the construction work.
Finance Minister OP Chaudhary said that efforts are also being made to get the third installment amount from the Government of India under the scheme in this financial year, so that the construction of their houses can be completed soon.
