Maharashtra BJP-Shiv Sena and NCP have succeeded in winning the political battle with a huge majority, but a political battle has broken out for the post of Chief Minister. BJP, which has emerged as the largest party with 132 seats, is making efforts to make itself the CM, for which Eknath Shinde has been offered the post of Deputy CM or minister at the Centre. Ajit Pawar is ready to become Deputy CM, but Shinde is not accepting BJP’s offer. Shinde does not accept anything less than the post of CM.
Regarding the post of Chief Minister, the leaders of Eknath Shinde group are reminding BJP of the same things and promises as made by Uddhav Thackeray after the 2019 election results. Shinde faction’s Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Shirsat said that before the elections, Shiv Sena was promised that even if Mahayuti gets majority, the CM post will be given to Shiv Sena. In such a situation, Eknath Shinde will not accept the post of Deputy CM, because the election has been fought on his face and it is because of him that Mahayuti has got the victory. In such a situation, Eknath Shinde deserves the post of CM.
A good message will be sent if Shinde is made CM.
If Shiv Sena sources are to be believed, it was decided in several meetings with top BJP leaders that BJP will contest the elections on maximum seats, but regardless of the number of seats the Mahayuti constituents get, Shinde will become the CM if the Mahayuti gets the majority. Will stay. Shirsat said that if BJP fulfills our demand (to make Shinde the Chief Minister), then a good message will go among the people. With Shinde becoming CM, future elections will prove beneficial for us.
Maharashtra politics at the turning point of 2019
After the announcement of Maharashtra election results, politics has again come to the turning point of 2019. Mahayuti had contested the 2019 assembly elections without a CM face. Amit Shah had said that Shinde is definitely the current CM, but the decision on the new CM will be taken by all the three parties after the results are declared. Since the results have come in favor of BJP, the party is trying to make its CM. In such a situation, the name of Devendra Fadnavis is being discussed. BJP has offered the post of Deputy CM to Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar, but this formula is not acceptable to the Shinde faction. For this, he is talking about the internal agreement made before the elections, in which there is talk of making Shinde the CM.
Uddhav broke friendship for CM
BJP and Shiv Sena (United) had contested the 2019 assembly elections together, but did not make their vision clear regarding the post of Chief Minister. Maharashtra election results were in favor of NDA, but the friendship between BJP and Shiv Sena over the post of CM was broken. Uddhav Thackeray had said that BJP had promised before the elections that Shiv Sena would be the CM for the first two and a half years and BJP would be the Chief Minister for the next two and a half years. BJP now wants its own CM. By making such allegations, Uddhav Thackeray broke the alliance with BJP and formed the government with Congress and NCP.
Uddhav Thackeray and Shiv Sena said that BJP had decided on a government formula of two and a half years, but it was changed after the elections. Due to this, we had to break the alliance with BJP and form a government with Congress and NCP. At the same time, BJP kept saying that there was no such agreement with Uddhav Thackeray and Shiv Sena regarding the post of Chief Minister. Nor was any such offer given by Shivsena. Uddhav Thackeray has insulted the mandate given to NDA in his political ambitions.
Shinde group speaking the language of Uddhav Thackeray
Uddhav Thackeray had carried out a coup in June 2022 by taking 38 Shiv Sena MLAs with him. After this Shinde formed the government with BJP. Eknath Shinde was made the Chief Minister while Devendra Fadnavis was made the Deputy CM. The government ran for two and a half years under the leadership of Eknath Shinde and once again Mahayuti has returned to power with a huge majority. After the landslide victory of BJP, the political outlook regarding the post of CM has completely changed. BJP, which handed over the command of power to Shinde for two and a half years, is now trying to make its CM. BJP has offered Shinde the post of Minister and Deputy CM at the Centre, on which Eknath Shinde is not ready.
Shiv Sena breaking its alliance with BJP and the CM post being the reason behind the split between Shiv Sena and NCP, again the same situation persists. It is being said in both the alliances that the Chief Minister will be decided after the elections. BJP may have made Eknath Shinde the CM in 2022 to settle scores with Uddhav Thackeray, but it will not do so now. If BJP tries to make its Chief Minister after the elections, then Shinde group is not ready.
