IAS Pooja Khedkar surrounded by fraud allegations relief from Supreme Court, ban on arrest till 17 March


The Supreme Court has put forward the interim ban on the arrest of dismissed IAS Pooja Khedkar. The Delhi Police demanded additional time to respond to Pooja’s anticipatory bail plea, accused of becoming an IAS by fake. Accepting this, the Supreme Court fixed the next date of hearing on 17 March. A bench of Justice BV Nagratna and Justice Satish Chandra Sharma said that till then the interim ban on Pooja’s arrest will continue.

Earlier, the Delhi High Court refused to give them relief and said that it is not only with the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) but also the common people of the country. For the benefit of the youth who efforts hard to be a part of the civil service, it is also necessary that the matter should be investigated in a detailed investigation. On the petition of Pooja, who reached the Supreme Court against this order of 23 December, the Supreme Court has issued a notice to the Delhi Police and UPSC.

Pooja Khedkar has many allegations like making fake OBC certificates, changing her name by cheating and giving false certificate of disability and gaining eligibility for selection in UPSC. In 2022, IAS, Pooja, who was elected IAS, was appointed as Assistant Collector in Pune. There he was accused of capturing the office of the Additional Collector, a private vehicle of several indiscipline like installing government lights. After sending a complaint to the government on behalf of the Collector of Pune, the matter came into the discussion.

UPSC also investigated at its level. It was found that between 2012 and 2020, Pooja took the UPSC exam 9 times. Even after the maximum limit of 9 times was over, he got his selection in 2022 and got his selection. During this time, he conducted a variety of corrupt behavior like change in name, fake OBC certificate, income and wrong details of property, false claims of disability. After this investigation, UPSC dismissed Pooja from civil service. UPSC had also filed an FIR in Delhi Police in the case.
