
In Telangana, 8 laborers are trapped in the upper part of the Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel. Of these, 2 UP, 4 Jharkhand, 1 Jammu and Kashmir and 1 laborers are from Punjab. Rescue operation is being conducted on a large scale. However, no success has been achieved yet. Along with the army, NDRF has also taken up the front. Meanwhile, Telangana Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy has given great information. He said that a meeting has been held with 10 big agencies of the country. Please tell that this accident took place on Saturday in Srisailam Left Bank Canal Tunnel. Today is the fourth day. Still eight people are trapped inside. Experts from GSI and NGRI have also been included to help in rescue operation. On the other hand, DM of Nagarkurranul, B.K. Santosh said that before taking any further steps, the stability of the tunnel will be focused. The work of extracting water is going on.
Till now we have not been able to contact the workers
B Santosh told that till now we have not been able to contact the laborers trapped in the tunnel. We are taking advice of Indian Geological Survey and some others. Water is being extracted right now. The rescue team is moving forward but we have not been able to reach the last 40 or 50 meters. Along with GSI and NGRI, L&T experts have also reached here.
He said, the rescue teams are not able to go to the last 50 meters. 8 people are trapped at this place. Mud and debris have accumulated there. Apart from GSI and NGRI, an Australian expert of L&T has also been called on the spot. He has a great experience of tunnel related work.
The possibility of laborers survival is very low
It is being told that a team of 584 skilled personnel of Army, Navy, Singreni Colorries and other agencies has inspected the tunnel 7 times. He informed that gas cutters are being used continuously to cut the metal rod. Earlier, Telangana Minister Jupalli Krishna Rao had said on Monday that the possibility of survival of laborers trapped in the tunnel is very less.
