
Kolkata. The Calcutta High Court has expressed strong displeasure over the conservation of the memories of the last Nawab Siraj -ud -daula of Bengal in Murshidabad. The Chief Justice of the Court, TS Shivganam, said during a hearing a petition filed on the preservation of Siraj -ud -daulah’s memories that the properties of the Nawab of Bengal in Murshidabad are being merged into the Bhagirathi river.
He said that these are historical heritage. Their protection is necessary. The state will have to inform the court about its situation in this case within a week. Apart from this, the Archaeological Survey of India has also been ordered to be included in the case.
Heritage Commission reprimanded
The Chief Justice said that the Heritage Commission of the state has also not taken any initiative to conserve the memories of Siraj -ud -Daula. In this context, he reminded of the conservation of Vivekananda Memorial Shila in Mahabalipuram and Kanyakumari. Instead of preserving old history, it is being destroyed.
Government lawyer Sumita Bandyopadhyay claimed that the East India Company had destroyed the memories of the last Nawab Siraj -ud -daula of Bengal in 1758. There was only nine bighas of land. She is also flowing in Bhagirathi erosion. This requires a little more time.
The case will be heard again next week. It is to be known that the petition filed by the chief dedication of the Siraj -ud -Daulah Savita Suraksha Trust has demanded the renovation, renovation and protection of the assets of Siraj -ud -daulah on the west coast of Bhagirathi in Murshidabad.
