Update on appointment of national president in BJP, when will the President of UP be announced?


The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will elect its new national president in March. The BJP will be elected to its national president after the state units conducted their respective elections.
In fact, the BJP was to complete the process of choosing its national president in January, but the selection of the new president is delayed due to the Delhi assembly elections and pending elections in many state units.

What does BJP’s constitution say?
According to the information, the Constitution of the BJP says that for the election of the national president, at least 50 percent of their presidents are required to be selected by the state units. Therefore, the election process is being expedited at the state level.

What is the process?
Along with the state presidents in the BJP, members of the electoral college are also selected for the national president. Currently, out of 36 states, only 12 elections have been held in 12. In such a situation, elections need to be held for at least six more states.

UP BJP will get new state president in a week
On the other hand, BJP sources said that the election of state presidents is expected to be completed in the next one-ten days in major states like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka and Haryana. The current president is expected to remain in Bihar. After that the BJP’s national president will be elected.

It is believed that the election of district presidents in Uttar Pradesh will be completed in the next three-four days, after which the election of Uttar Pradesh BJP President will be held. It is expected that Uttar Pradesh will get the new state president within a week or ten days.

JP Nadda’s tenure had increased
Currently, BJP national president is JP Nadda. He was first appointed as the acting national president of BJP on 17 June 2019 and he held the post till January 20, 2020. After this, on January 20, 2020, he was formally elected the 11th National President of the party and since then he is in this post.

BJP won many elections under Nadda’s leadership
It is worth noting that under the leadership of JP Nadda, the Bharatiya Janata Party contested in 35 states and won 16 states. Similarly, the party won the Lok Sabha elections and returned to power.
