Birth certificate compulsory for those born after 1 October 2023

The central government has changed the rules for making passports. Under the new rule, it will now be necessary to submit a birth certificate to get a passport. Only the birth certificate will be valid proof for the date of birth.

However, it is worth noting here that this rule will not apply to all people. These new rules will apply only to those who have been born on or after 01 October 2023. Earlier, a marksheet or school leaving certificate, driving license was also used instead of a birth certificate.

Rules will not be applicable to these people
It is worth noting that a birth certificate to get a passport is not necessary for those who have been born before this date. They can get passports like driving license, school leaving certificate like earlier by giving other documents.

Changes in these rules also
Please tell that now residential addresses will not be printed on the last page of the passport. Immigration officers will now be able to get information by scanning barcode. At the same time, the name of the parents will not be printed on the last page of the passport. This rule will provide relief to single guardian or children of isolated families.
