Violence erupted in the palace area of ​​Nagpur at 8:30 pm on Monday night due to the Aurangzeb tomb dispute. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) burnt the effigy of the Mughal emperor demanding the demolition of Aurangzeb. After this, stone pelting and sabotage started. The miscreants threw stones at the houses and set fire to the roadside. Police was also attacked. DCP Niketan was injured by an ax attack on Kadam. Tear gas shells were released to control the situation and more than 55 people have been detained. Police Commissioner Ravindra Singhal said that Section 163 of BNS (like Section 144 of IPC) has been implemented in the city. At the same time, according to media reports, 20 teams of police have been formed to restore peace system. On the other hand, CM Devendra Fadnavis held a meeting with State BJP President and Cabinet Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule late at night. After this, Bawankule left for Nagpur. The CM has asked him to submit the report on the incident. Bawankule is the patron minister of Nagpur. At the same time, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is an MLA from Nagpur south-west seat. At the same time, security has been increased on Aurangzeb’s grave in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The SP reported that a SRPF company and two platoon have been deployed in the district.

Nagpur Police Commissioner imposed curfew in many police station areas
Curfew has been imposed in many areas of Nagpur city under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Protection Code (BNSS) after tension demanding Aurangzeb’s removal of the tomb. According to the official order of Nagpur Police Commissioner Ravinder Kumar Singhal, the ban will remain in force till further orders. Curfew will be applicable in the police station boundary in Kotwali, Ganeshpeth, Tehsil, Lakdanganj, Pachpavali, Shantinagar, Sakkardara, Nandanvan, Imamwara, Yashodharanagar and Kapilnagar.

Use of prohibitory orders, prohibition from people’s accumulation
