Bhopal: The three-day Bal Rang Festival organized by the School Education Department had a colorful start on Friday. On the first day, state level literary, Sanskrit Yoga, Madrasa for disabled, folk dance and musical instruments competitions were held.
On the first day, divisional level groups from 9 divisions of the state gave attractive folk dance presentations in the junior and senior sections of their respective divisions. There were spectacular performances of folk dances Baredi, Baiga, Gaur, Thimrayai, Gangaur and Gaika dance in the function. School children dressed in colorful native costumes presented the culture of the entire state on one stage in a spectacular manner. The children embodied the spirit of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat.
In the Madrasa competitions, the girls of Bhopal division got first place in Qawwali, along with this, in the Disabled People’s Competition, disabled children recited poetry, danced and painted attractive paintings. Children of Jabalpur division secured first position in the competition. Veda recitation and Sanskrit drama were presented in the Sanskrit competition. School children presented the Vedas together in a melodious voice. An attractive dance drama based on Kalidas’s book Abhigyan Shakuntal was presented by the Ujjain division. In the literary competition, debates and patriotism based poetry recitation and essay writing competitions were organised. There were singing and musical competitions in the cultural competition. Jabalpur student Anshika Soni gave an attractive performance on sitar. Roopam, a student of Bhopal division, presented three taals on Pakhawaj. Folk dance performances of junior and senior classes of all 9 divisions took place on the main stage. There were folk dance presentations from all the regions of Madhya Pradesh namely Malwa, Bundelkhand, Baghelkhad, Nimar, Central India and Mahakaushal.
This year, an innovation has been made in hair color, in which an exhibition of handicraft products made by school students has been organized under the banner of Tejasvi Madhya Pradesh, in which the handicraft products prepared by school girls in the government of Bhopal were displayed. National folk dance competitions will be held tomorrow on 21st December on the main stage. In which school children from 22 states including Madhya Pradesh will present folk dances of their respective states. These presentations will take place at the Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya from 10 am to 5 pm. admission is free.
