Lonavala. A two-year-old girl died after drowning in the water of the swimming pool located on the terrace of Carnival Villa bungalow in Prichlihill area of Khandala. This incident took place on Sunday morning at around 9.30 am. The name of the girl who drowned in the swimming pool is Haniyazaira Mohammad Nadeem Syed, who was one year and 11 months old. In this case, the girl’s father Mohammad Nadeem Kaiserhussain Syed (31 resident of Dombivli) lodged a complaint with the Lonavla city police station. This is the third incident of drowning in the swimming pools of bungalows in Lonavala in the last six months. With this incident, once again the case of unauthorized swimming pool and negligence of the parents has come to the fore in Lonavala. According to the information given by the Lonavla city police, Mohammad Nadeem Syed had come to visit Lonavla on Saturday morning with his wife, three-year-old son, daughter Haniyazaira and his sister and sister’s husband. All of them were staying in the Carnival Villa bungalow located in Prichlihill area by renting a room. While having breakfast in the room at around 9.30 am on Sunday morning, Haniyazaira climbed the stairs of the bungalow and reached the swimming pool on the third floor terrace and climbed the stairs of the pool and fell into the pool. When the girl’s father and family members ran after hearing the girl’s screams, they saw that their daughter Haniyazaira was lying in the water. They pulled him out of the water and immediately admitted him to Sanjeevani Hospital in Lonavala for treatment. But the doctors declared him dead after investigation.
