Former Karnataka minister and mining baron G. Janardhana Reddy on Sunday announced a new party named “Kalyana Rajya Pragati Paksha”. Along with this, the leader accused in the illegal mining case also broke his two decades old relationship with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Re-entering Karnataka’s electoral politics from outside Bellary district, he also announced that he would contest the 2023 assembly elections from Gangavathi in Koppal district.
Janardhana Reddy said, “Today I am announcing the Kalyana Rajya Pragati Paksha. With my own thinking, with the thinking of Basavanna (12th century social reformer), against divisive politics in the name of religion and caste. ” He told reporters that in the coming days he would travel across the state to organize the party and share his views with the people.
‘I never gave up’
He further added, “I have never failed in any new initiative in my life so far. I am one who never gives up, so I am sure of getting their blessings by going among the people with Kalyan Rajya Pragati Paksha.” And there is no doubt that Karnataka will become a welfare state in the future.” Reddy also said that he has built a house in Gangavathi and got his name registered in the voter list there.
