Fastag New Rules The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and the Ministry of Road Transport have made some significant changes to the rules related to the fastags to streamline toll payments, reduce disputes and curb fraud.

New rules of fastag apply from today
Under the new fastag rules that come into force from today, ie, users with low balance, delayed payment or blacklisted tags will be fined additional. The new rules will affect the users who delay the payment or whose tags are blacklisted.

The transaction will be rejected if the vehicle remains inactive for more than 60 minutes before crossing the toll and remains inactive until 10 minutes after the vehicle crosses the toll. The system will reject such payments.

In addition, changes have been made in the chargeback process and cooling period as well as transactions rejection rules to streamline toll payments and reduce disputes.
According to the new guidelines, if the toll transaction is updated after more than 15 minutes from the time of passing through the toll reader of the vehicle, then the fastag user may have to pay an additional fee.

In this case, the user will be able to file a complaint after 15 days
According to the updated National Electronic toll collection guidelines, if the transaction is delayed and the user does not have sufficient balance in the fastag account, then the toll operator will be held responsible. However, if the amount is deducted, the user can file a complaint after 15 days. Earlier, users could recharge their fastag at the toll booth and then overtake.
