Big accident due to steamer burst in restaurant, one killed, three serious


Kochi. A worker died after an explosion in the ‘Cooking Steamer’ of Cafe in Kalur, Kerala. While three workers were severely scorched. Police said the deceased has been identified as Sumit, a resident of Bengal. The injured have been admitted to a private hospital, where their condition remains critical.

According to fire fighting and rescue services officials, on Thursday evening, it was reported that the gas cylinder was exploded at the cafe on the ground of Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium in Kalur. Firefighting personnel immediately reacted and controlled the situation.

Another official said that the gas cylinder was not an explosion, but the ‘cooking steamer’ of the cafe exploded due to excessive pressure. The head found with a severe head injury inside the Sumit Cafe. He was declared dead when he was taken to the hospital. Police have said that investigation is going on by registering a case.
