Bhopal: ‘He had seen such days in his life, when there was not even a grain of food in his stomach, there was no place to hide his head, there was sadness, despair and just a scary web of no-hopes. . But everyone’s days change, his also changed. The pains that I had received from life till now vanished like cold winds.
This story of change is from Shivpuri district. Mrs. Shanti Sahariya, living in Hatod block here, once lived a difficult life in her hut. Even daily needs were a matter of struggle for his family. Whatever little income was earned from daily wage labor would have gone towards providing food. His hut leaked during the rains and he spent his nights awake. Basic facilities like education and health were a dream for them. But today Shanti Sahariya and her family are experiencing a pleasant change.
Shanti says, “Earlier our life was very difficult. There was no place to eat or drink. There was no permanent house, nor any permanent employment. We had to go to the well for water and sending children to school was a very difficult task. “
This change started with the government’s plans. Shanti’s family got a permanent cottage under the PM Awas Yojana. This made their life safe and comfortable. Now his family is living a respectable life with a pucca house in the entire colony.
Shanti happily says – “Now we have our own house, which remains safe even in the rains. We can easily reach the city due to the paved roads. There is no problem of drinking water due to tap water reaching every house. It’s over.”
Apart from this, to develop a source of income, Shanti started rearing goats. The gas cylinder received under PM Ujjwala scheme gave his family permanent relief from the smoke of the stove. Now his family can avail free health treatment services under Ayushman Bharat (Niramayam) scheme.
“We receive nutritious food every month, which has improved the health of our children. Now I am confident that my children will be able to study and live a good life.” Shanti says with pride.
Today Shanti and her family wholeheartedly thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav for their new life. Shanti’s story is a living example that collective efforts can bring a big change in the society and the lives of the poor.
