Central government’s big step, new skill development scheme to connect youth with employment


The central government, which is trying to connect the youth with employment with studies, will now prepare them according to the need of the future and their skill will also be developed. For this, the government has announced a new phase of three schemes already running skill development. Which will cost a total of 88 hundred crore rupees. The maximum number of six thousand crore will be spent on skill development scheme 4.0 alone.

Along with this, the government has also approved the preparation of a master plan to mapping skill development in view of the target of developed India of 2047. In the cabinet meeting held on Friday, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in the last years, the steps taken for skill development were also discussed.

1942 crore will be spent on National Appritisship program
Giving information about the decisions of the cabinet, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that along with this, it has been approved to speed up the National Appritisship program. Which will cost 1942 crores. Similarly, an amount of Rs 858 crore has been given to the Jan Shikshan Sansthan to conduct skills related programs in the previous areas. This amount will be spent on 307 mass educational institutions across the country.

1.60 crore people connected to skill development scheme
Responding to questions related to skill development, Vaishnav said that skill development programs will be run on the demand and need of industries. He informed that since 2015, about 1.60 crore people have been linked to the skill development scheme. Along with this, 39 lakh people have been given the benefit of National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme.

A new railway zone will be built
The government’s emphasis on skills is also because under the new National Education Policy, 50 percent of students studying in schools and colleges by 2025 have been recommended to be connected with skill development. The cabinet has also approved the tenure of the National Safai Karamcharis Commission to increase further for three years. At the same time, the railway has also approved to create a new railway zone named South Coast.
