Bhopal: Managing Director Madhya Pradesh State Co-operative Dairy Federation Shri Tarun Rathi informed that 9 lakh 5 thousand kilo liters of milk is purchased daily from 2 lakh 40 thousand milk producers of the state. Out of the milk collected from 6 thousand 913 milk societies by Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior, Jabalpur and Bundelkhand milk unions, 7 lakh 35 thousand liters of milk is sold to the consumers every day. In rural areas, the producers are being provided a fair price at the local level itself. Most of the producers are farmers and women.
Shri Rathi informed that in order to increase the milk production capacity in the animals, 13 thousand 750 metric tonnes of nutritious animal feed Sudan is being produced every month by the milk unions. Sudana contains vitamins, proteins, fats, etc. Due to this increase in milk production, the income of the farmers is also increasing. Sudan Cattle Feed Plants are operated as per BIS norms at Pachama, Mangliya, Bandol and Shivpuri. Sudan animal feed is being provided to the milk societies in 50 kg packing at the rate of Rs 18, 50 paise per kg and Sudan super animal feed at the rate of Rs 20 per kg.
