Dnyanesh Kumar will be the new Chief Election Commissioner of the country, from Section 370 to Ram Mandir.


Dnyanesh Kumar will be the Chief Election Commissioner of the country. He will replace Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar. A three -member selection committee headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi recommended the name of Gyanesh Kumar on Monday evening, which was stamped by President Draupadi Murmu. Notification has been issued in this regard. At the same time, Dr. Vivek Joshi will be the new members of the three -member Election Commission.

According to the tradition of so far, the most senior Election Commissioner has been appointed as Chief Election Commissioner. Dnyanesh Kumar is the most senior election commissioner after Rajiv Kumar. His term as Election Commissioner is till 26 January 2029. Dr. Vivek Joshi has been appointed to the post of vacant in his place due to Gyanesh Kumar being made the Chief Election Commissioner.

The meeting was held on Monday
Please tell that Rajiv Kumar is going to retire on 18 February i.e. Tuesday. Earlier, the selection committee headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi met in the South Block office. Five names were placed in it but the Leader of Opposition and the committee member Rahul Gandhi registered disagreements on all these names. Apart from PM Modi and Rahul Gandhi, Home Minister Amit Shah is also a member of the committee.

Know about Dnyanesh Kumar
Please tell that 61 -year -old Dnyanesh Kumar was the first part of the Union Home Ministry. His major responsibilities included helping the draft a bill ending Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir in August 2019 and dividing the erstwhile state into two union territories. At that time he was the Joint Secretary (Kashmir Division) in the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Just a year later, Gyanesh Kumar, as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs, also handled the documents related to the Supreme Court case about the Ram temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.
If sources are to be believed, Gyanesh Kumar is considered close to Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He retired from civil service as Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation in January last year, which is also led by Home Minister Amit Shah.

Will fulfill big responsibility
Please tell that Gyanesh Kumar will replace the outgoing Rajiv Kumar. Gyanesh Kumar will oversee the Bihar assembly elections to be held later this year and the elections in Bengal, Assam and Tamil Nadu next year.

Gyanesh Kumar is a 1988 batch IAS officer of Kerala cadre. He is senior to two commissioners of a three -member panel in the Election Commission. The second commissioner of the same panel panel is Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, an officer of Uttarakhand cadre. Rajiv was leading this panel.
