Eight and a half lakh applications came for inclusion of names in the voter list

So far eight and a half lakh applications have been received by the Election Commission for inclusion of names in the special summary revision program of the voter list being run in the state. Apart from this, objections have been raised against the names of two lakh 42 thousand voters already included in the voter list. At the same time, two lakh 55 thousand applications have been received for modification of name or addition of name in second place in the list. This information was given by Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan in a meeting of representatives of political parties on Tuesday. In the meeting held at the Chief Electoral Officer’s office, information was given about the revision work done so far. It was also told that all the applications which have been received so far can also be seen on the website of the office. The Chief Electoral Officer said that if there is any objection to any name in the draft list or if you want some correction, then bring it to the notice of Booth Level Officer (BLO). He urged for cooperation in getting the names of new voters in the age group of 18 and 19 years included in the list. BJP’s SS Uppal, Ashok Vishwakarma, Bahujan Samaj Party’s Shishupal, Communist Party of India’s Shailendra Shelly were present in the meeting.
