Exercise to generate electricity from sea waves in Mumbai


Mumbai The demand for electricity in the country is increasing. Therefore, various options of power generation are being considered. Renewable energy projects like wind energy and solar energy are being emphasized. But a separate experiment is going to happen in Mumbai. The sea waves will generate electricity in Mumbai. The project will be launched by the Central Government -owned company Bharat Petroleum Company Limited (BPCL). For this, the cooperation of an Israeli company will be taken. It is reported that the country’s first pilot project to generate electricity from sea waves is going on in Mumbai. India Energy Week (IEW) program was held at Delhi. Its focus focused on meeting the increasing fuel and energy requirements of the country. Its focus was on environmentally friendly and clean energy production. Under this, BPCL has planned power generation from renewable energy sources on the coast like Mumbai Ocean.

Israeli company will be compromised with Wave Power
BPCL and Israel’s eco wave power wave will sign an agreement for the energy production project. A 100 kW power generation project will be launched on the Mumbai coast. The Eco Power Company has successfully implemented the project in Israel. Officials of the Union Ministry of Petroleum have predicted the signing of the agreement in this regard this week.

Which countries are this project running?
Eco Wave Power, headquartered at Tel Aviv, Israel, has successfully implemented projects to generate electricity from sea waves in some countries. These include places like Israel, Gibraltar and Portugal in Spain. A wave energy project of five to 20 MW is going on at this place. This technique will be used to generate electricity on the Mumbai coast. The demand for electricity in India is increasing day by day. Therefore, new power generation options are being discovered. Currently focusing on mass production of solar energy is being focused. But after sunset, the productivity of solar energy decreases.
