Neemuch. Farmers of Mandsaur and Javra succeeded in capturing two trucks of Chinese garlic under a strategy. The estimated price of this garlic is estimated to be around one crore rupees. At present, both the trucks are standing in Industrial Area Police Station Javra till the investigation by Mandi Administration, Food Department and Health Department is completed. Further steps will be taken only after investigation.
To catch both the trucks, about 50 farmers chased them from Neemuch and Mandsaur and took both the trucks in their possession at Joyo intersection and parked them in the police station. District Panchayat member DP Dhakad and District Minister of All India Kisan Union Ram Patel said that garlic is not produced in Afghanistan, hence it is necessary to investigate the matter closely because the garlic kept in both the trucks has the tag of Afghanistan.
China is sending this garlic to India illegally through Afghanistan, whereas the import of Chinese garlic is banned in India since 2014. Industrial area police station in-charge Munendra Gautam and Agricultural Produce Market Committee Secretary Ramveer Kirar refused to give any information to the media in this matter.
