Bhopal. Complaints about pollution are coming from some factories in the state. Due to this, crops are getting spoiled and people’s health is also getting affected. The crops of farmers of about half a dozen villages including Bhartari, Manpur and Bajera villages are getting damaged due to Bhartari Iron Factory located in Bhitarwar, Gwalior. A question to this effect was raised by BJP MLA Mohan Singh Rathore in the state assembly. He said in the Assembly during Question Hour that due to the pollution from this factory, while the water in the villages has been polluted, the crops in the fields are also getting spoiled.
On this, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya replied that this matter has been investigated twice. No pollution has been found in the investigation report. Even after this, if any complaint is given to the MLA in writing, they will send it to the officials and get the investigation done with the MLA and will take action against those who are found guilty. Apart from this, MLA Devendra Patel raised questions regarding irregularities and poor construction on the road being built between Begumganj to Sultanganj in Raisen district. He said that the quality of this road construction is very poor and it is not being inspected nor is any officer inspecting it. On this, Public Works Minister Rakesh Singh replied that investigation and inspection is being done from time to time. Wherever flaws are found, they are being rectified. Currently 6 panel cracks have been found, out of which two have been replaced and 4 are being replaced. Even after this, the investigating officer will investigate it after consulting the MLA and all the complaints will be resolved.
Rules for tender for road construction works will change
During the Question Hour itself, Minister Rakesh Singh said that three states have been studied and on the basis of the report received, some changes are being made in the rules and procedures of the tender. This will increase transparency and will also curb the arbitrarily low rates being quoted during tenders. On the lines of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Telangana, the tender conditions are also going to be made stricter.
