Horrific road accident, 5 MBBS students died in car-bus collision


There was a massive collision between a car and a KSRTC fast passenger bus on Monday night. In which 5 MBBS first year students of TD Medical College, Vandanam died. Six other people were seriously injured in this accident. 15 passengers traveling in the bus were also injured. The accident is reported to have occurred near Kalarkode in Alappuzha on Kerala’s National Highway 66 at around 9.30 pm, about 100 meters north of Changanassery Junction. This accident was so serious that people are still not able to come out of that shock. The passenger traveling in the bus told that this major incident happened due to a head-on collision between a fast passenger bus and a car coming from Guruvayur in the direction of Kayamkulam. The sound of the collision was so loud that people nearby immediately reached the spot.

More people in the car than capacity

Giving information about the matter, the Regional Transport Officer (RTO) said that the main reasons for the accident were heavy rain, age of the vehicle, and overloading of people in the car. He told that the speed of the car was quite high before colliding with the bus. Due to which both the vehicles went out of control and collided with each other. He further said that the incident was so horrific that after the collision, the car got buried under the bus and the vehicle was completely damaged. There were 11 people in the car, which was much more than its capacity.
