
A high -level delegation of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) reached Delhi on Monday for bilateral talks. The 55th Director-level border coordination conference between the two armies will be held at the Border Security Force (BSF) headquarters on Lodhi Road.
First meeting after the collapse of Sheikh Hasina government
This will be the first top level meeting between the two Border Security Forces after the fall of Sheikh Hasina government in August last year. The meeting is to be held on Tuesday. The Bangladeshi delegation will remain here till 20 February.
Home Ministry officials will also be part of the meeting
Officials said that apart from participating in the talks, they can also meet some senior officials of the Union Home Ministry. The Indian delegation is headed by BSF Director General (DG) Daljit Singh Chaudhary, while the Bangladeshi team on tour is led by BGB DG Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzamam Siddiqui.
Sitting for coordination between border security forces
The BSF last week said that the event is being organized to discuss border issues and improve coordination between border security forces. It said that along with preventing attacks on BSF personnel and Indian citizens by Bangladesh-based miscreants and Indian citizens, joint efforts for effective implementation of crimes, fence construction, issues related to border infrastructure, coordinated border management scheme , Faith building measures and other issues will be discussed.
