IRS officer and entire family died under mysterious circumstances, police investigated

Kochi: The police team investigating the mysterious death of a senior officer of the Central Excise and Customs Department of Jharkhand, his mother and sister, has intensified its investigation to find out the exact cause of his death. The deceased have been identified in Kochi as Indian Revenue Service IRS officer and Additional Commissioner Manish Vijay (43) in the Central Excise and Customs Department as Manish Vijay (43), his sister Shalini Vijay and his mother Shakuntala Aggarwal.

Police sources said Manish’s sister Shalini had recently received a summons from the court, in which she was directed to appear in a court in Jharkhand on 15 February in connection with a case being investigated by the CBI. She was accused in the case related to irregularities in her appointment in the service of the Government of Jharkhand. The bodies of Manish and Shalini were found hanging from the noose, while Shakuntala was found dead on her bed. Shakuntala’s body was wrapped in white cloth and flowers were placed on it. According to the police, the initial investigation shows that the brother and sister have committed suicide. However, a senior official said that the exact cause of his mother’s death would be known only after the post -mortem. Police have come to know that Manish bought flowers on 14 February.

The official said that the police also found an entry of February 15 in Manish’s diary, in which it was instructed that some documents should be handed over to his younger sister, which is currently in Dubai. Police said that her younger sister is expected to reach Kochi on Saturday, after which the body will be post -mortem. Although investigators are investigating from all angles, they have not yet been able to establish any direct connection between deaths and the case. An official said, “If the mother’s death is found to be natural, then the suicide of siblings may be due to sorrow. Now our focus is on confirming the cause of death through post-mortem.”

Manish Vijay, Additional Commissioner of Goods and Services Tax (GST), was living here in a government residence in Kakknadu. The officers were on leave for a few days, but when they did not return to work, their colleagues reached their house on Thursday night. When he came to bad smell, he saw a body hanging from the open window. After this, the police was immediately informed and when they entered the house, they found two more bodies.
