Awaiting detailed guidelines from Ministry of Education and UGC
Though the university had already given the nod to go for CUCET in the academic council meeting, the decision regarding when and how it would be implemented was yet to be taken. Now detailed guidelines from the Union Ministry of Education and UGC are awaited on this. JNU’s entrance exam is currently conducted by the National Testing Agency- NTA. Earlier, Delhi University has announced the decision to implement CUCET from its next academic session.
JNU Students Union’s allegation – trying to change the practice
At the same time, the JNU Students’ Union has criticized the discussion on adopting CUCET. JNU Students’ Union President Aishe Ghosh said that the Vice Chancellor is trying to change the practice of the university during the Corona pandemic by taking decisions through academic council meetings. Ghosh alleged that the JNU Vice Chancellor has called a meeting of the Academic Council during the COVID-19 pandemic to implement CUCET without any deliberation and discussion with the students.

JNU Students’ Union alleged that this time also JNUSU representatives have not been invited for the Academic Council meeting and even if the professors have voting rights in the Academic Council meeting and they disagree, we still know Why are they silent?
