Bhopal: Under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Shri Devashish Tripathi, a special surprise inspection campaign was conducted at Bhopal Railway Station in view of the health safety of passengers. A team under the direction of Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Shri Saurabh Kataria including Station Manager (Commercial) Shri A.K. Khare, Assistant Chief Commercial Supervisor Mr. Faim Uddin, and Catering Inspector carried out the raid.
During this campaign, poor quality food items were seized from the catering stalls present at Bhopal Railway Station. The seized items included stale, expired and irregularly stored food items, which could pose a risk to the health of passengers.
Many spoiled food items were seized
Food items seized from 8 to 10 stalls included snacks like poha, idli, upma, biryani, samosa, dhokla, kachori, omelette, aloo paratha and bhaji vada. Apart from this, other food items were also seized during the inspection. All the seized food items were destroyed under the supervision of the Chief Health Inspector so that there is no adverse effect on the health of the passengers.
Clean and safe food should be available to passengers: Manager
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Mr. Saurabh Kataria reiterated his commitment to provide clean and safe food to the passengers and said, “Clean and quality food is our top priority. Negligence in food safety will not be tolerated at any cost. Strict action will be taken against the culprits.”
This campaign is part of the ongoing efforts by Indian Railways for the health and safety of passengers. Bhopal Railway Board will continue to conduct such inspection campaigns from time to time so that the quality of food available at the station can be improved.
