Bilaspur. Passengers may soon have to go to Uslapur station for several trains of Katni railway section including Bilaspur-Indore Narmada Express, Bilaspur-Rewa Express and Bilaspur-Bhopal Express. The railway administration has prepared a proposal to transfer the operations of these trains to Uslapur station. Although it has not been officially announced yet, the discussion regarding it has intensified in Bilaspur Railway Division.
Development happening under Amrit Bharat Yojana
Uslapur station, which is the second major railway station in Bilaspur, is being rapidly developed under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. More than half of the development work at the station has been completed and the remaining work is likely to be completed soon. Railway administration says that the line expansion work is not possible without shifting the operation of these trains to Uslapur. Railways can start operating these trains from Uslapur station within the next three to four months.
Plan to increase the stature of the station
Railways believes that unless more and more trains stop and operate at a station, its importance will not increase. Under this thinking, last year the trains coming from Raipur were stopped at Uslapur. Under the new system, these trains reach Uslapur directly from Dadhapara, due to which the process of changing engines has been eliminated.
17 trains are being stopped
Currently there are 17 trains stopping at Uslapur station, out of which 8 are regular and the rest are weekly trains. With the commencement of operation of major trains like Narmada, Rewa and Bhopal Express, the number of trains and passengers at this station will increase. Keeping this in mind, the facilities at the station are being expanded. The Railway Administration is fully prepared to implement this new scheme and the necessary procedures for this are being finalized. Soon passengers will be able to experience this change.
