Bhopal: A new record of highest electricity demand in the history of Madhya Pradesh was made today on 18th December at 9.34 am when the peak electricity demand reached 18695 MW. The highest electricity supply in history was 3368.56 lakh units in the state on 17th December. In this way, a record of both demand and supply of electricity was established in the state within a span of one day. The special thing was that the highest demand for electricity in the state was supplied 100 percent.
Demand for electricity is increasing every day in the month of December – The demand for electricity in the state is continuously reaching the highest level every day in the month of December. Last day on 17th December the demand for electricity was 18611 MW, on 16th December it was 18524 MW and on 13th December it was 18444 MW.
How was the demand for electricity in the state?
When the demand for electricity in the state was recorded at 18695 MW, Madhya Pradesh East Zone Electricity Distribution Company (Jabalpur, Sagar and Rewa divisions) had 4998 MW, Central Zone Electricity Distribution Company (Bhopal and Gwalior divisions) had 5898 MW and Western Zone Electricity Distribution Company had 5898 MW. The maximum demand for electricity in the company (Indore and Ujjain divisions) was recorded at 7403 MW. 396 MW electricity was supplied to the Railways.
