Raipur: On the instructions of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, construction of roads and bridges is being done to strengthen the means of transport in Chhattisgarh. Under this, Chhattisgarh Government has issued administrative approval of Rs 5680 crore for a total of 520 works for strengthening the means of transport in all the districts of Chhattisgarh under Chhattisgarh Road and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited.

In this, 3110 km. Rs 4891 crore has been issued for important 429 roads and Rs 788 crore for the construction works of 91 high level bridges. Under this, tenders for works worth Rs 5460 crore have been approved for a total of 492 works so far.
According to the information received from the Chhattisgarh Road and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited, an expenditure of Rs 1109 crore has been made so far on the construction works. Presently all the works are in progress and will be completed with high quality within the stipulated time frame.
Better transport facility for the people of the state
As per the instructions of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, the work of filling of potholes and repair of roads is going on in the state on a war footing. Project circles of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana Bilaspur, Mungeli, Korba and Gorela Pendra 1258 km in Marwahi district. About Rs 160 crore has been spent for the repair and renovation work of a total of 352 long roads. The amount has been approved.
Under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana in Kabirdham district, approval of Rs 78 crore 97 lakh 8028 has been granted for a total of 67 roads, length 252.975 km, for renovation in the year 2022-23. Asphalting work has been started from Kabirdham, the main center of tourism, religious and public faith, to the Bhoramdev temple approach road, 16 kilometer road at a cost of about Rs 9 crore 60 lakh 24 thousand. Which will be completed by the month of December.
Similarly, the work of construction, repair and asphalting of roads is going on in the entire state on a war footing. As per the instructions of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, the collectors of all the districts are personally inspecting these works and also checking the quality of roads and bridges on the spot so that the people of the state can get better transportation facilities.
