He requested engineering and management schools of Mahindra University in Hyderabad to work on this problem and prepare a template and said, “We all need to contribute to it.”
This is a heartbreaking national tragedy
Referring to the stampede of New Delhi railway station, Mahindra said that it was a heartbreaking national tragedy.
Anand Mahindra wrote on X,
As one of the world’s largest population and lowest per capita income countries, we need to make rush control and security a subject of faith and national mission.
Bommai also raised questions
On the other hand, BJP MP Basavaraj Bommai said on Sunday that there should be a thorough investigation of the stampede at New Delhi railway station. In this, 18 people including three children were killed. He said that the crowd was unprecedented at the railway station as people were going from New Delhi to Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh.
Bommai said, “Railway officials are now into action and the situation is becoming normal. A crowd of people going to Prayagraj via Delhi is unprecedented. This stampede should be investigated intense and proper arrangements should be made. ”
Derek O Bryan targeted Railway Minister
Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress MP Derek O Bryan took a sarcasm at Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on Sunday. He cited his colleague Abhishek Banerjee’s speech in the Lok Sabha. In this, Abhishek Banerjee accused Vaishnav of ‘juggling’ among the three ministries.
A week ago, Banerjee targeted Vaishnav and called him ‘half minister’ and also said that Indian Railways is considered a lifeline for millions of people. It is not a ‘side gig’ (non-essential responsibility) to run it.
