The names of the job seekers in primary teacher recruitment were recommended by the state opposition leader Shubhendu Adhikari’s brother and former MP Divyendu officer, BJP leader and former police officer Bharti Ghosh to former Education Minister Partha Chatterjee. According to sources, the CBI has got a similar list of names in the investigation of teacher recruitment corruption case. The list also includes the names of Trinamool MLA Shaukat Molla and former Trinamool MP Mamataabala Thakur. The CBI believes that all of them recommended the names of job seekers.
The CBI has not questioned any of them. The Central Investigation Agency is investigating from 2022 on the basis of corruption allegations in the 2014 primary examination by CBI. During the year when the examinations were so controversial, neither Divyendu nor Bharti were in BJP. Later he joined BJP.
Where did Bharti Ghosh contest the election?
Bharti Ghosh contested the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections on a BJP ticket. In June last year, the CBI raided the warehouse of Vikas Bhawan (one of the offices of the School Education Department). Documents were recovered after search there. According to CBI sources, Shubhendu Adhikari’s brother Divyendu Adhikari and the names of the candidates recommended by Bharti Ghosh are listed in the document. This list was sent to former state education minister Partha Chatterjee. Partha Chatterjee is currently in jail in this teacher scam. A total of 324 candidates were recommended, out of which 134 candidates got jobs as primary teachers.
Did Shubhendu Adhikari say?
Shubhendu Adhikari said that the brother’s name came out that on the recommendation of people, illegal appointments were made. No person of the Bharatiya Janata Party was involved in them. Those whose names are mentioning, they can be MPs or MLAs of the ruling party of the state at that time. He said that he was not associated with the BJP party at that time. If there was an illegal appointment, then they should be questioned but it was not done.
