Raigarh. After purchasing paddy in the district under the Kharif marketing year 2024-25, now paddy lifting has increased. The district administration has taken active steps to ensure prompt lifting of paddy from the millers. In the last two days, the millers got more than 23 thousand metric tons of DO paddy cut for lifting and also lifted 4207 metric tons of paddy. According to the information received from DMO Shalo Netam, till now 28,472 metric tonnes of DO has been cut by the millers, out of which 6179 metric tonnes has been lifted. Apart from this, TO of 10,681 MT has been issued, out of which 4195 MT has been lifted from the societies. Thus, till now a total of 10,375 metric tonnes of paddy has been lifted from the committees. 85,122 farmers are registered for selling paddy in Raigarh district, and so far a total of 1,24,522 metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased in 105 paddy procurement centres. For the convenience of the farmers, the district administration has made arrangements like proper arrangements in the committees, issuing tokens online, arrangement of gunny bags, and weighing with electronic machines. Rs 252 crore 43 lakh has been paid to the farmers in lieu of paddy purchase so far, which is 89 percent of the total purchase. The information for the remaining payment has been updated in the software and sent to the bank and this payment will also be released soon. Paddy procurement work is going on smoothly and arrangements have been made for immediate payment to the farmers.
