Bhopal: The three-tier contract for the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal Link Project, which will make Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan prosperous and farmers happy, was signed in Jaipur today in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This will bring prosperity in the lives of farmers and their crops will also flourish.

In Dewas district, the district level farmers’ conference was held in the Mandi courtyard of Tonkhurd in the presence of Urban Administration and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya. Minister Vijayvargiya said on this occasion that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has gifted such a big scheme that not even a single farm in Sonkutch area will remain where water will not reach. Minister Vijayvargiya said that under the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal Link Project, if water reaches the farmers’ fields from the Ranjit Sagar Complex Irrigation Project, the farmers will be able to grow four crops each. He said that farmer brothers should avoid chemical fertilizers and turn to organic farming. Due to the use of chemical fertilizers, serious diseases like diabetes and cancer are reaching every village.
Minister Vijayvargiya said that the Central and State Governments are working rapidly for the welfare of farmers, women empowerment, poor and youth. Women are being economically enriched through self-help groups. He said that more and more women of Dewas district will be linked to self-help groups.
Irrigation will be possible in 36 thousand 500 hectare area
The estimated cost of Ranjit Sagar Complex Irrigation Project under Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal Link Project is Rs 2 thousand 182 crore. Ranjit Sagar Complex Irrigation Project will provide irrigation to 36 thousand 500 hectares. This will benefit 74 villages, which includes 68 villages in Dewas district and 6 villages in Ujjain district. This project will mainly promote irrigation, drinking water, fisheries and industrial activities in Dewas district. Dewas District Panchayat President Leela Ataria and local public representatives were present in the program.
