New Delhi| Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep grief over the loss of lives in an accident during Durga Puja festival in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal. Expressing condolences to those who lost their loved ones in this accident, he has also announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh each from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund to the next of kin of the deceased and Rs 50,000 each to the injured. Expressing grief over the accident during Durga Puja festival in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal, in a tweet issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “Saddened by the accident during Durga Puja festival in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal. My condolences to those who lost their loved ones.
Giving information about the announcement of compensation by the Prime Minister, another tweet from the Prime Minister’s Office said, Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund to the kin of each of the deceased who lost their lives in the tragic accident during Durga Puja festival in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal. Two lakh rupees and an ex-gratia of 50 thousand rupees will be given to each injured.
