New Delhi . PM Modi will release a comprehensive action plan under the National Logistics Policy today. This program will be organized at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. Giving more details of this program, the Prime Minister’s Office said that the need for a National Logistics Policy has been felt, because India Logistics cost in India is high as compared to other developed economies. In order to improve the competitiveness of Indian goods in both domestic and export markets, the PMO said in its statement that it is imperative to reduce the cost of logistics in India. Low logistic cost improves efficiency cuts in various sectors of the economy, also encourages value addition and enterprise. Also, the PMO said that the government has laid great emphasis on improving both ease of doing business and ease of living since 2014. Let us tell you that the size of the logistics business of more than 10 thousand products across the country is $ 160 billion. More than 2.2 crore people have got employment in this sector. The Union Ministry said that with the improvement in the condition of the sector, there will be a reduction in indirect logistics cost by 10 percent, which will increase exports by 5 to 8 percent.
