This college was named North Eastern Railway because the donor of this college was Railways. It is said that at that time the Railway Minister of Bihar was Ram Vilas Paswan. At that time also this college was verified.
After participating in the protest, Sonpur MLA Ramanuj Prasad, while talking to the media, said that this college was opened due to the courtesy of Railways. Whose name is North Eastern Railway College. He said that if anyone wants to disturb this college, the people of Sonpur and we will not let it happen. He said that this college is our heritage. Our children are the future of the present and coming generations. We will fight whatever battle has to be fought to save the college.
He said that he will fight from here to Delhi and from the road to the House to save this college. It is said that this college was established by the Railways in 1978. It is said that this college was established by the Railways for the education of the children of railway employees. 50 percent children of railway employees studied in this college. Apart from this, after the online process of enrollment of children of different districts, the number of children of railway employees studying reduced.
According to the college, more than 3000 students study in this college and more than 50 employees are employed. Children from Chhapra, Siwan, Gopalganj and Sonpur districts study in the college. Children from far away places come to this college to receive education.
