Anantapur Central University: On Sunday 16 February at Anantapur Central University located in Bookkarasamudram Mandal in Andhra Pradesh, some outsiders were peeping into hostel rooms and bathrooms, for which the students are protesting fiercely. Women students expressed deep concern about their safety. Also raised slogans demanding immediate action from university officials.

According to the protesting students, no concrete action has been taken to address their concerns, despite repeated complaints to the university administration and police. He alleged that some unknown people, who are working in the surrounding sites, often peeping through the windows of the hostel rooms and the bathroom ventilator. Also, there are incidents like installing camera or making videos in women toilets, which is a big question on security for them.

Last year too, such an incident took place in December
The students allege that this is not the first time that strangers have tried to enter their toilets or have tried to peek inside them. A similar incident took place in the university in December last year. Troubled students have decided to boycott classes. At the same time, various student unions gave their support to the girl students, which intensified the movement. One of the protesting students told the local media, “We are constantly living in fear, who is uncertain about who is watching us. This is unacceptable, and we demand immediate security measures.

The shadow was seen in the washroom
Police said that there was no electricity from Sunday afternoon to evening. During this time, one of the students claimed that he saw a shadow in the washroom and alleged that someone was peeping. In such a situation, when he shouted, the person ran away. The incident took place on the third floor of the hostel building. Protests started with the student’s charge.
