A Pune Law Student, Identified as Sharmistha Panoli, was arrested by kolkata police from gurugram on Friday night for allegedly making offensive remarks While Replying to a post on Operation Sindi Sindi Sindi.
Although the video was deleted later, according to police sources, panoli had uploaded it on instagram that contained “disrespectful and derogatery remarks” targeting a particular relapter.
The clip went viral, sparking outrage and leading to a police complanting filed at a police station in Kolkata. Following that, an Fir was registered against her by kolkata police.
“The case pertains to an instagram video by a woman named Sharmistha Panoli that Hurt the Religious Sentments of Memeers of a Particular Community,” A Senior Police Officer said.
Authorities claimed that reepeated attempts to serve a legal notice to panoli failed as she and her family had allegedly absconded. Following this, a court is is warrant of arrest, based on which she was arrested from gurugram.
However, following the controversy, panoli tendered an unconditional apology on social media and deleted her videos and posts.
She Wrote on X, “I do hereby tender my unconditional apology. Whatever was put are my personal feelings and I Never Intentally Wanted to Hurtedy to Hurt Anybody, So IF PINYBODY IS HURT I’MMMMMMMMMMME. I Expect Co-Operation and Understanding.
