Rahul targets PM Modi over ED’s action on Sanjay Raut

New Delhi . Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the ED arrested Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut in a money laundering case. He has addressed PM Modi as Raja on Twitter. Rahul Gandhi has written that the message of ‘Raja’ is clear – he who speaks against me will suffer. He did not stop here only, he further wrote that by misusing the government agencies, vigorous efforts are on to break the morale of the opponents and silence the truth. But let the dictator listen, in the end ‘truth’ will win and ego will lose. Apart from Rahul Gandhi, many other Congress leaders have also opposed the arrest of Rahul Gandhi. These leaders say that with such actions, the Modi government is suppressing the voice of the opposition. On Monday, there was uproar in both the houses of Parliament over Raut’s arrest. Due to this the proceedings of Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha had to be adjourned several times. Significantly, today Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut was sent to ED custody till August 4. Investigation is going on against him in the case of money laundering in Patra Chawl scam. The ED team reached Sanjay Raut’s house at around 7 am on Sunday. The Shiv Sena MP was taken into custody after nine hours of interrogation here. After this late night ED arrested Sanjay Raut. The ED also says that about Rs 11 lakh in cash has been recovered from Raut’s house. The ED got Sanjay Raut’s medical done this morning and after that he was produced in the court. In the court, the ED had sought eight days’ remand for Raut. However, the court allowed the remand only till August 4. Meanwhile, this afternoon, former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray reached Sanjay Raut’s house and met his family. After this, in the press conference, Thackeray fully supported Raut and called him a real Shiv Sainik.
