Jaipur . Murlipura police station of the capital Jaipur has arrested a robber bride. The accused woman is a resident of Uttarakhand. The woman used to target rich people through online matrimonial site and after a few days of marriage, she used to blackmail her and run away after grabbing the money. Married to a renowned jeweler in Jhotwara, Jaipur, she got 6.50 lakh cash and 30 lakh gold, silver, diamond jewelery and other valuables. She packed it up and ran away. Earlier, a businessman from Agra and a software engineer from Gurugram were made victims.
According to DCP West Amit Kumar, the accused woman had married a renowned jeweler in Jhotwara, Jaipur. They had met through an online matrimonial site. The accused woman had called the businessman to Dehradun to meet him. Both of them got married in February 2023 in Mansarovar, Jaipur. After 4 months of marriage, she ran away with Rs 6.5 lakh in cash and other valuables including gold, silver and diamond jewelery worth Rs 30 lakh. Jewelers resident of Jhotwara had filed a case at Murlipura police station on 29 July 2023. After the death of the businessman’s wife, he married a woman resident of Uttarakhand to take care of the children. Police registered the case and started investigation. Considering the seriousness of the matter, special teams were formed under the leadership of Murlipura police station officer Sunil Kumar under the direction of Additional DCP West Alok Singal. Special police teams have achieved success in the case and arrested the accused robber bride. The woman had earlier targeted a businessman in Agra and a software engineer in Gurugram. The accused woman, a resident of Uttarakhand, had married for the first time in 2013. She had collected Rs 75 lakh in the name of resignation by filing a case of harassment against an Agra businessman. After this, in the year 2017, she married a software engineer from Gurugram. A case was registered against him under serious sections. In the name of resignation, Rs 10 lakh was recovered from the software engineer. The accused woman used to target only divorced or rich people. Interrogation of the accused woman revealed that she used to contact rich people and get complete information about them and then get married. After winning the trust of the family within three-four months, she would pack up her belongings and disappear from the house. The accused woman had married her first husband and his wife. A case was registered against the family under serious sections and money was taken by blackmailing them. Similarly, the software engineer was implicated in his second marriage. A businessman and a software engineer have been implicated in two cases and sent to jail. The accused woman is being interrogated.
