The BJP’s Medha Vishram Kulkarni introduced a networks in the upper house on Thursday afternoon after the uproar of the opposition parties on the issue of alleged removal of parts of disagreement in the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) report on the Waqf Amendment Bill. Kulkarni presented the pure of Appendix Five of the report in the Rajya Sabha after a lunch. He presented a report in the House in the morning.
A opposition member took a pinch
Chapter of the appendix of the report relates to comments/disagreements received from the members of the five ‘Joint Committee’ and includes comments that were edited in the earlier report. As soon as the BJP member introduced the pure, an opposition member quipped that it proves that the House was first misled by a minister.
Thanking the government for the purpose, Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar said-‘It shows that parliamentary institutions are flourishing and feelings are being taken care of. We want things to be done through dialogue and deliberations. However, opposition MPs said it was done under his pressure.
Opposition is doing creative fight- TMC leader
Trinamool Congress MP Saket Gokhale said that the government was forced to present Waqf JPC with opposition disagreement notes. The opposition is doing a creative fight to save the institutions. When the report was presented in the first House on Thursday, Gokhale demanded that Rijiju should respond whether there was any amendment to the disagreement notes.
Government rejected opposition in both the House
The government dismissed the allegation in both houses and said that no disagreement has been removed and the opposition is doing vote bank politics in this matter.
Home Minister Amit Shah intervened in the Lok Sabha, saying that some opposition parties claim that their objections and disagreements have not been placed.
I request him on behalf of my party (BJP) that whatever objections you have, you can include them in the report according to parliamentary traditions. My party has no objection to this.
