Korea. School children gave information about the ill effects of child marriage through drama. In a program organized at the Mini Stadium of Baikunthpur under the Mahatari Vandan Yojana program, children presented an impressive drama for the prevention of child marriage. Through the play, the children not only highlighted the dangers of child marriage but also informed people about its legal aspects. The aim of this play was to spread awareness about the ill-effects of child marriage and the law against it. Children told through street drama that child marriage is illegal and it has a deep impact on the lives of children. During the play the children conveyed the message that marriage under the age of 18 is a legal offense and can result in punishment. He appealed to all the citizens to marry their children only after the girl’s age is 18 years and the boy’s age is 21 years and thus help in preventing child marriage.
During the program, the children also appealed to the beneficiaries of Mahtari Vandan Yojana to follow this law and work to spread awareness in the society. This inspiring play inspired everyone present to unite against child marriage and spread awareness about it.
