The start of the stock market was very strong today. The Sensex, the main sensitive index of BSE, opened up by 333 points at 58744 level, while the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange also rose by about 126 points to open at the level of 17438. In early trade, the Sensex jumped 606 points to reach the level of 59,017.59, while the Nifty had reached 17,493. Almost all the stocks on the Sensex were on the green mark in the opening trade. Sensex reached above 58900 in morning trading. At the same time, Nifty was trading at the level of 17464 with a gain of 152 points. Nifty top gainers were stocks like UltraTech Cement, Wipro, Tata Motors, ICICI Bank and Hindalco, then only Coal India in the top loser. The Dow Jones, the major sensitive index of Wall Street, rose 550 points or 1.86% on Monday at the level of 30185. was closed. The Nasdaq Composite, another index of the US stock market, also closed at 10675, up 3.43% or 354 points. Whereas, S&P managed to close at 3677 with a gain of 2.65% or 94 points due to buying.
