Bhopal. From October 2, Gandhi Jayanti, a 6-day drug de-addiction campaign will be launched in the entire state. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will launch the state level campaign from Bhopal, in which students and citizens from different districts will be connected online. At the district level, a meeting will be organized by the collector and an oath will be administered for drug de-addiction. Similarly, oath will be administered for drug de-addiction by holding meetings at section and district level, gram panchayat headquarters, villages and every urban body and ward level.
Various competitions, activities, programs etc. will be conducted during the campaign. These include wall painting, rangoli competitions, marathons, races, street plays, rallies for de-addiction, formation of human chains, lectures by subject experts in colleges. People who have come out of drug and alcohol habits will also share their inspiring experiences in the programmes. For the operation of the campaign, a state level committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of Principal Secretary Social Justice and Disabled Welfare. District and section level committees are being constituted. Participation of all departments, social organizations, voluntary and non-governmental organizations, religious leaders, public representatives, self-help groups, village forest committees, journalists, public campaign councils, city security committees etc. will be ensured in the campaign. There will be essay competition, awareness rallies, painting, debate, wall painting, rangoli competition, short film, performance and lectures in schools (classes 6 to 12) and colleges. These programs can be done throughout the month of October.
