New Delhi. Railways on Saturday conducted a successful test of crowd control measures at New Delhi railway station. Under this, the movement of passengers without reservation was limited to the same platform number 16 and when the demand increased, special trains for Mahakumbh were run with the same flatform.

Five special trains run from New Delhi
In view of the increasing number of passengers for Mahakumbh, five special trains were run from New Delhi on Saturday evening. It is known that in the stampede at New Delhi railway station recently, 18 passengers died and many were injured.

According to the railway, the crowd of devotees going for Mahakumbh bath at New Delhi railway station is increasing. From 6 pm to 11 pm on Saturday evening, 13 thousand 105 passengers caught the train for Prayagraj from here.

Ashwini Vaishnav himself kept an eye
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav himself was keeping an eye from the Railway Board war room and was constantly giving directions to the Chairman of the Railway Board and CEO Satish Kumar and other senior officials. Northern Railway General Manager Ashok Kumar Verma was in the mini control room at New Delhi station during this period.

Minister Vaishnav visited New Delhi railway station on Sunday evening and reviewed the arrangements and passenger facilities. He said that the experiment proved to be successful as it did not crowded other platforms and ensured the uninterrupted departure of the devotees going to Mahakumbh.

Monitoring of sales of tickets without reservation
On the other hand, CPRO of Northern Railway Himanshu Upadhyay said that from 2.30 pm to 11.30 pm on Saturday, we monitored the sale of tickets without reservation every half hour. It was seen that 969 tickets were sold between 2.30 pm and 3 pm. The number decreased to 466 in the next 30 minutes and kept swinging between 400 and 1,100 till seven in the evening.

However, after this it started growing. 2375 tickets were sold for Prayagraj between 6 pm and 7 pm.

Between seven to eight o’clock in the night, between 2950, ​​3429 between eight and nine o’clock, between nine to ten o’clock and 1689 tickets between 10 am and 11 pm. During this time a special train was operated for Prayagraj every hour.
