Bhopal. TB (tuberculosis) is spreading rapidly in Madhya Pradesh. The central government has set a target to eliminate it from the country by 2025. For this, the target is to find 1.90 lakh TB patients in the state, but till now the health department has been able to identify only 1.66 lakh patients. The important thing is that till now the maximum number of TB patients in the state has been found in Bhopal. The number of patients of this disease in Bhopal is 11768. Similarly, there is a city like Indore at number two. Chhatarpur comes at third place. The least number of 608 patients have been found in Niwari district. Satna district ranks 10th in the state with 4680 patients. However, the department has been able to identify only 88 percent of the patients in the state against the target. Under the campaign, a target was given to find patients from January to December 2024 according to the population in the districts. The target was to find 1.90 lakh TB patients in the state, out of which the department has been able to identify 1.66 lakh patients. As against the target, the department has not been able to reach 12 percent of the patients in the state. In only two districts of the state, 110 percent TB patients have been identified in Shivpuri and 109 percent in Burhanpur.
Vaccination continues to control TB
Adult TB vaccination campaign has been started from March 7 to protect identified people above 18 years of age from TB in 26 districts of the state. Under this, vaccination campaign is being conducted. This includes Bhopal, Agar Malwa, Ashok Nagar, Barwani, Bhind, Harda, Hoshangabad, Jagalpur, Katni, Mandla, Morena, Narsinghpur, Panna, Raisen, Ratlam, Satna, Sehore, Shahdol, Sheopur, Singrauli, Tikamgarh and Umaria.
