On Monday night between Kumhari and Repura police station on the Damoh-Katni State Highway, the car of minor forest produce employees went uncontrolled on the bridge and fell into the river below the bridge, in which one officer was killed and six people were injured. Those who were immediately brought to the district hospital for treatment, one of whom was referred to Jabalpur when his condition was critical and after giving primary treatment to the rest, all went to Shahdol.

The incident took place at Panghatta bridge, one kilometer ahead of Kumhari police station. The car riders were going from Shahdol to Bhopal to attend the herbal fair programme. As soon as the car reached the Panghatta bridge, it went uncontrolled and fell down about 30 feet. Seven people including the manager of Small Forest Produce Committee Titka were in the car and the manager died on the spot. At the same time, six people were injured, who were first taken to Patera Health Center for treatment, from where they were referred to Damoh District Hospital. When the condition of one injured was critical, he was referred to Jabalpur. At the same time, the remaining injured were sent back to Shahdol with the help of Damoh Divisional Forest Officer MS Uike, Forest Range Officer Damoh Rishi Kumar Prajapati and Forest Department staff.

As soon as the information about the incident was received, station in-charge Kumhari Vandana Gaur, ASI Purnanand Mishra reached the spot along with the police force. According to the information received by the police, Laxman Pal Nagdwah police station Jai Singh Nagar district Shahdol manager Laxman Pal Titka, who was riding in the Bolero, died on the spot. On the other hand, among the six injured, Shiv Narayan Singh was referred to Jabalpur from Damoh district hospital when his condition was critical. Apart from this, the drivers Chandrashekhar, Ramnaresh, Haricharan, Sundar and Ramsingh were treated at Damoh district hospital. After that everyone was sent to Shahdol with the help of Forest Department officials.
