A young man running with friends was crushed by a pickup in Chhattisgarh’s Korba in the early hours of Wednesday. According to the information, the son of Tuman resident Prahlad Dhobi (22) was studying in Amritlal College and was preparing for police recruitment. As usual, he went out on running practice at around 4 in the morning with two friends Surendra Kanwar and Amit Kanwar, who lived in the village. About three km ahead of the village, a high-speed pickup hit the young man from behind near village Dhodhatarai on Tuman-Sakti road. As soon as the collision took place, the young man jumped on the road and died on the spot.
The pickup driver was on the run after the accident, who was caught by the people with the help of passers-by. He was also beaten up severely. After this, people put the dead body on the road and blocked it. On information, the team of Dial-112 has reached the spot and is trying to convince the people. It’s been almost four hours since there was a jam. In such a situation, there is a queue of vehicles on the road. The accident has been reported to the police station and the officers. After this, Urga police station is also on the spot.
Friends told that the young man has suffered a head injury. Due to this he died on the spot. Along with studies, Prahlad was also preparing for police recruitment. All three were running during practice. Both the friends were running ahead while Prahlad was behind. During this, the vehicle hit him. On the other hand, the jammed people say that strict action should be taken against the pickup driver and proper compensation should be given to the family members. At present, the police have taken the driver into custody.
