Ekadashi date of Shukla Paksha of Sawan month is called Putrada Ekadashi. One Putrada Ekadashi falls on Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Paush month and second on Putrada Ekadashi Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Sawan month. This year, Putrada Ekadashi fast will be observed on 8th August 2022. Lord Vishnu is worshiped on the day of Putrada Ekadashi. By observing a fast on this day, children are obtained and the child gets freedom from sufferings. Shravan Putrada Ekadashi is on Monday 08 August 2022. Ekadashi Tithi will start on August 07, 2022 at 11:50 am and will end on August 08, 2022 at 09 pm. The fasting time will be from 06:07 am to 08:42 am on August 09, 2022.
Significance of Putrada Ekadashi-
It is believed that Putrada Ekadashi fast is kept for the attainment of son’s happiness. Putrada Ekadashi is considered beneficial for those who do not get children. According to religious beliefs, observing this Ekadashi fast brings special grace to Lord Vishnu.
Ekadashi fasting rituals
Get up early in the morning and retire from bath etc. Light a lamp in the temple of the house. Anoint Lord Vishnu with Ganga water. Offer flowers and Tulsi Dal to Lord Vishnu. If possible, keep fast on this day also. Worship God. Offer food to God. Keep in mind that only sattvik things are offered to God. Tulsi must be included in the Bhog of Lord Vishnu. It is believed that without Tulsi, Lord Vishnu does not accept the bhog. Along with Lord Vishnu, worship Goddess Lakshmi on this holy day. On this day, meditate more and more on God.
